Car free trips
Many VOCers can't afford cars, but that doesn't mean you have to scrounge a ride to get out. This page is dedicated to trips that can be pulled off without a car.

Buses
Translink
Many trips in West and North Vancouver are accessible by city bus, or various shuttle busses. Check the Translink website for bus schedules.

Greyhound
Greyhound runs regular service between Vancouver and Whistler, providing access to many trailheads along the sea to sky corridor. They will drop you off just about anywhere along highway 99, but you can only get picked up at designated stops.
Designated stops in the sea to sky corridor are: Sunset Marina, Lions Bay, Furry Creek, Britannia Beach, Squamish south, Squamish North (Depot), Pinecrest, Function Junction, Whistler Creek, Whistler Village (Depot), Alpine Meadows, Emerald Estates, Pemberton
Designate stops along the Fraser Valley - Manning Park route are: Allison Pass, Manning Park Lodge, Manning Park East Gate
- Garibaldi Lake and Black Tusk 2.7km extra walk or hitchhike from highway 99 to the trailhead. Nearest designated stop is Pinecrest - 3.7km further north along highway 99 (6.4km from the trailhead)
- Singing Pass and Russet Lake
- Howe Sound Crest Trail north end
- Brew Hut via Brew Lake Trail. Nearest designated stop is Pinecrest on highway 99. Reach the trailhead by walking along the railway tracks from Pinecrest or Brandywine Falls.
- Spearhead Traverse
- Backside Trail of the Chief
- Squamish rock climbing
- Frosty Mountain in Manning Park (walk/ski starting from Manning Park Lodge)
- Windy Joe Mountain in Manning Park.
- Three Brothers Mountain in Manning Park (winter access from Allison pass via Fat Dog Creek)
- Mount Sproatt walk from Alpine Meadows to trailhead 3.2km along Alta Lake Road
- Rainbow Mountain walk from Alpine Meadows to trailhead 3.2km along Alta Lake Road
Also, the West Coast Trail is serviced by a private bus company - West Coast Trail Express. They provide service to the trailheads from Victoria and Nanaimo
Hitchhiking
Combination
- Stein Valley Traverse by Bus + short hitchhikes along Lillooet Lake Road between Lizzie Creek and Pemberton and from Lytton to the Stein Valley trailhead
- Diez Vistas by Bus in the summer + walking to Buntzen Lake
Cycling
Biking to the trailhead opens up access to a lot of nearby parks that are hard to get to by bus. For these trips, city busses will generally get you close, but not quite all the way there.
