Many VOCers can't afford cars, but that doesn't mean you have to scrounge a ride to get out. This page is dedicated to trips that can be pulled off without a car.

Buses

Translink

Many trips in West and North Vancouver are accessible by city bus, or various shuttle busses. Check the Translink website for bus schedules.

Greyhound

Greyhound runs regular service between Vancouver and Whistler, providing access to many trailheads along the sea to sky corridor. They will drop you off just about anywhere along highway 99, but you can only get picked up at designated stops.

Designated stops in the sea to sky corridor are: Sunset Marina, Lions Bay, Furry Creek, Britannia Beach, Squamish south, Squamish North (Depot), Pinecrest, Function Junction, Whistler Creek, Whistler Village (Depot), Alpine Meadows, Emerald Estates, Pemberton

Designate stops along the Fraser Valley - Manning Park route are: Allison Pass, Manning Park Lodge, Manning Park East Gate

Also, the West Coast Trail is serviced by a private bus company - West Coast Trail Express. They provide service to the trailheads from Victoria and Nanaimo

Hitchhiking

Cycling

Biking to the trailhead opens up access to a lot of nearby parks that are hard to get to by bus. For these trips, city busses will generally get you close, but not quite all the way there.

a combination of biking, paddling, walking, and climbing.
