User talk:Cmich
Chris,
I accidentally create two user names. Can you delete the one called Scottn, and leave ScottN (capital N) as it is.
-Scott
Ok, that should be done now.

Adding some code to the directory
Hi Chris,
I was wondering if you could install the ParserFunctions to the wiki's directory from Metamedia ?
ParserFunctions
At the moment, I just need the #if function to make Main Article:[[Link]] links from the VOC Handbook Prototype but it could come handing in the future...
On a different note, can you give me article deletion privileges? I've been creating quite a few pages lately and some of them are obsolete after completing a project.
Thanks Champagne 21:55, 24 October 2006 (MDT)
- Ok, done and done. Chris Michalak 08:02, 25 October 2006 (MDT)

Time on wiki & Board
Hey Chris,
What's up with the clock on the wiki? It's kinda off (so is the board) Champagne 18:40, 3 November 2006 (MST)
- Looks like $wgLocalTZoffset still needs to be set in the MediaWiki config to fix the times on the Recent changes page. See here --Matthew 17:21, 1 August 2007 (PDT)
- Works fine for me if I update my Time zone to -7:00 in my user preferences. The server seems to be using the correct time zone when converting the ~~~~ on your previous post. Scott Nelson 17:28, 1 August 2007 (PDT)
Google Maps
Sweet! Can't wait to play with it! Champagne 16:38, 29 August 2007 (PDT)
Yeah, I installed the plugin. It works if you put in the code. But the little "map editor" applet that came with it did not work for some reason (so I've disabled it). Perhaps it is incompatible with our mediawiki version (though it says it is). It would be nice to have the applet as it would be easier for people to make maps. Perhaps I'll upgrade our Mediawiki sometime. However our provider is kind of crappy and so doing a proper backup of our database and all the rest of the upgrade stuff is a real PITA so I'll have to build up the required determination... Chris Michalak 22:46, 29 August 2007 (PDT)
- I got the chance to goof around with it for 45 minutes today. I can't seem to find the proper code to align the map wherever I want within a page. Plus, the text doesn't want to be placed beside it. Got any solution ? Champagne 23:49, 29 August 2007 (PDT)
Paths
Chris, can you add the Paths extension to the code ? I was trying to make a path for Roe Creek winter trail but it just gives me a bunch of markers. --Champagne 08:09, 31 August 2007 (PDT)
Newest version - google map extension
Hi Chris, I just checked out the newest google map features on mediawiki. See mediawiki site, this demo (click on the 'make a map' icon, very cool!!') and VOC wiki sandbox. Do you think it is possible to add the newest release of this extension on the VOC wiki?? --Bramvs 16:00, 3 May 2008 (PDT)
Ok, I upgraded to 0.9.3 and enabled the make a map javascript magic. Chris Michalak 00:06, 7 May 2008 (PDT)
Something highly weird going on
I appear to have made 3 edits last night that I didn't make.
My last edit, before editing this page now, was this edit to Mountaineering camp, but since then I've apparently edited:
None of those were me though - looks like the first was Bronwyn, then Piotr, then Breakey.
Weird. I hope this isn't a sign of impending database collapse or something. --Matthew 08:34, 30 August 2007 (PDT)
- You should tell Firefox not to keep you username and password for the wiki on the clubroom computer :-) Champagne 08:40, 30 August 2007 (PDT)
- Well I haven't used the club room computer in many months, and when I did I don't think I would have told it to remember my password. Maybe I messed up, but I'm usually careful about that sort of thing. Were you serious or just joking again? --Matthew 08:50, 30 August 2007 (PDT)
- Serious, and joking. Champagne 09:19, 30 August 2007 (PDT)
- Maybe now that the cat is out of the bag you need to change your password to something less obvious than "iluvinflatables" Scott Webster 09:43, 30 August 2007 (PDT)
- Yeah yeah, ha ha. If I'm an idiot and managed to save my username/password in the clubroom, then fair game. Chris: can you check if the IP address from those edits is in fact the club room? I changed my password already (actually that was the first thing I did) but it would be good to know. If they're not the club room, then there really is something weird going on, and I'm not a complete dufus. --Matthew 09:57, 30 August 2007 (PDT)
- IP was 137.82.188.161 which is probably the clubroom.Chris Michalak 11:35, 30 August 2007 (PDT)

VOC's digital Logo
Nice job in replacing the logo on the main webpage. Are you going to do the same with the wiki ? -- Champagne 10:30, 17 September 2007 (PDT)
- Done already. Some helpful VOCer sent Chris drop-in replacements for both logos ;) --Matthew 11:50, 17 September 2007 (PDT)
- The VOC Logo on the wiki still looks crappy... -- Champagne 11:52, 17 September 2007 (PDT)
- Refresh. Scott Webster 13:16, 17 September 2007 (PDT)
- Ok, I had to clear my browser's cache. It's fine now. -- Champagne 13:19, 17 September 2007 (PDT)
- Yes, all credit goes to Matthew. For future reference, you can force your browser to reload all the images on a page by holding down the shift key while you press reload/refresh.
