Talk:VOC Handbook
This page is a weebit long. Should be break it up into a few wiki pages? Champagne 20:24, 24 October 2006 (MDT)
- Probably a lot of this information should/could be on other pages in the wiki, but it would be nice to have the handbook be one document. So, for instance, I think it would be good to have a VOC history page, bu that info should/could stay in the handbook too, in case someone wants to physically print it out sometime. Maybe there should be a "VOC essentials" category or something for people to learn about the VOC on the wiki when they join. Or they could just read this handbook page, even though it is pretty long. - We could turn the handbook into a series of links to other articles. In the web era, it seems unlikely that someone will want to print out the entire handbook. Is there a way to link articles inline without using templates? Scott Nelson 09:50, 25 October 2006 (MDT)
- I've added some "Main Article" links just below some of the sections. We could either make short intros and/or just cut the text and paste it onto current or new wiki pages for all of them. Champagne 09:55, 25 October 2006 (MDT)
Purpose of this page
Membership Handbook should be Rewritten
NOTE this was prepared, perhaps, in 1998, and is a little out of date. Because it was designed as a photocopied handout, it did not originally have links to other WEB articles. If we want to keep it as a handout, we should not put in links, but if we want it to be up to date and editable, it should be broken into extensive links. The first step to bringing it up to date may be to correct things that are no longer true. Editing may destroy the nice friendly style.
Several other attempts have been made to create the ultimate Clubs Days Handout. See for instance

Veenstra's version
As pointed out above, this is out-of-date. Maybe, in this era of the existence of the wiki, it's not even necessary. But people like stuff in different formats, so I intend to update it into something which could be photocopied as a handout, but still contains web links.
Mostly, I will try and make the information correct and remove weird stuff. Like the emergency numbers which are a strange thing to put on an info page and aren't even correct.
- The CAC bulletin number was correct. Scott Nelson
