Introduction
The Olympic Torch Relay will be coming to UBC, and the VOC will be hosting a booth in the Olympic Torch Relay Celebration event along with other UBC campus groups. We are looking for volunteers to help out with the VOC booth, which will involve interactive games including: the coin reach game, human bouldering, tabling, balance tug of war (name to be decided), and prusiking. It's okay even if you don't know the games (I didn't), come out and have fun! In addition, helping out during the event will count as a workhike.

Torch Relay Celebration: 4:00pm - 8:00pm

Olympic Torch Relay event at UBC officially begins. As the purpose of
this event is to celebrate the Olympic Torch passing through, we ask
that booths focus their attention on the torch relay as it crosses the
festival area. There will be plenty of notice before it arrives, and
specific details to follow.
- 6:00 - 7:00pm
Olympic Torch arrives at UBC. Please note this time is approximate and
subject to change.
- 8:00pm
Booth teardown
Location
Intersection of University Boulevard and East mall. Specific booth location will be provided on event day.
Volunteer Hours
We need volunteers to be at our booth to supervise the games. Preferably three members in each time slot, with at least one exec. Also, please come out if you are familiar with ropework and prusiking to help out with this station.

Things We Need
Will be provided at the booth:
- a table
- a tree or pole where people can hang off of (prusiking)
What we need to bring and set up:
1. The coin reach game
- tape measure
- rope/stick/something to mark starting line
- poster/board to record distances
2. Human bouldering
- bouldering mat
- stop watch
- poster/board to record times
3. Balance tug of war (? name to be decided)
- bucket (or something a person can stand on)x 4
- rope x 2
4. Prusiking
- rope
- prusiking cords
- harness
- karabiners
- belay device
5. Tabling
Optional:
Bringing photos of club trips may be fun to share as well.
Just remember, please, you are representing the club while you are at the booth!
