Synopsis
The goal is to scramble the to the peak of Mount MacDonald in Chilliwack in one day. MacDonald is listed in Matt Gunn's Scrambles as a moderate scramble so a helmet is required. The trailhead is only about 2 hours drive from Vancouver and is accessible by 2WD vehicles.

Skills Required
This trip is open to anyone who can hike 1700m elevation gain in a day. If you're not sure if this trip is appropriate for you, please email me.
Trip Meeting
There will be a trip meeting on Wednesday, October 20 at 5:30pm to sort out rides. If you can't come to the meeting, let me know or make your own arrangements.
Driving Directions
Drive east on Highway 1. Turn off right (south) at Exit 119A to take Vedder Road (following signs for Chilliwack Lake Provincial Park). Follow Vedder Road through Sardis and Vedder Crossing to a three-way intersection at a bridge. Turn left onto Chilliwack Lake Road and set your odometer. Drive about 37km then turn right on Paulsen Road, after 100m turn left at the fork. Continue past houses for 800m (continuing straight through a junction). Park here where the road ends before a small bridge. We will meet at this parking area at approximately 8:30 am on Saturday.
Gear Required
Clothing for a day hike (no cotton), a helmet, and good hiking boots.
