Relaxing(ish) Beginner Friendly Zupjok Day Mission

Synopsis

So exams are soon and some of us undergrads don't think we can afford to take the whole weekend of to go skiing, so let's head out for a day trip. The plan is to head to the Coquihalla (mainly so some of the elevation gain is done by driving), park at the Zopkios Ridge Lookout, and cruise up to the ski summit of Zupjok. If time allows maybe try for Alpaca Peak as well or just ski. And head back home on Saturday night, possibly for a beer.

Date

The pretrip meeting is Wednesday April 6^th, 6:15pm, in the clubroom. It will start promptly, so don't be late!

The trip is April 9^th , 2011

Equipment List

A basic list to start with is:

• A set of non-cotton clothes
• A wool sweater or fleece
• Some sort of waterproof(ish) layer
• Gloves or mitts
• Toque
• Headlamp - ESSENTIAL
• Sunglasses and sunscreen. (We're hoping for good weather)
• Shovel, Beacon, Probe
• Food (lots of lunch)
• Snowshoes/Skis and Poles
