Description:

Guided Backcountry Tour Myoko + Japanese Alps - PowderQuest

Have you ever dreamed of skiing in Japan? Have you ever wondered what it’s like to ski in snow so deep you can’t see your boots? Can you imagine soaking in a natural hot spring under a starry sky, surrounded by snow-covered mountains?

Imagine waking up to the soft glow of sunlight reflecting off endless fields of pristine, powdery snow. The air is crisp, and the scent of cedar trees fills your lungs as you prepare for another day of adventure in Hokkaido, Japan’s northernmost island and a paradise for ski enthusiasts. December in Hokkaido is nothing short of magical, with its world-renowned powder snow, breathtaking landscapes, and warm hospitality. Here’s what your dream ski touring trip to Hokkaido could look like:

Day 1–2: Arrival in Sapporo (Tokyo to Sapporo)

Day 3–7: Niseko – The Powder Paradise

Day 8–10: Furano – Quiet Slopes and Stunning Views

Day 11–14: Rusutsu – Hidden Gems and Final Adventures

You may be thinking it’s too early to start planning, but it’s important to begin now and set aside some money for the trip. Flights are usually the cheapest if you book them between April and June, but prices tend to rise as the travel date gets closer.

Notes:

This will be a self-guided trip

Also, I am not a certified guide, just an avid backcountry skier. You are responsible for your own decision making in the backcountry.
