Description:

In an effort to encourage members to be creative in their trip planning, let's track all the places the VOC explores in 2025!

I've created a shared CalTopo map where we can upload all of our gps tracks to one big map. This way, people will be able to see where there's holes in the map and broaden their horizons by leading trips to some lesser-explored areas. That being said, small trips, big trips, and anything in between should be added!

A couple guidelines for trips uploaded to the CalTopo map:

  • All trips must have been posted on the trip agenda.
  • Please try to follow the formatting of the example trip: "Red Heather Debacle (2024/11/24)".
  • All trips must have taken place in 2025.
  • Trip reports are encouraged.
  • Include links to the trip agenda posting as well as trip report (if applicable).
  • Try to appropraitely categorize each trip by activity.
  • Ideally only one track per trip (e.g. not 40 people uploading tracks for Burns and Turns).
  • Self-propelled is important!
  • GPS tracks or carefully hand drawn tracks are fine.

We'll present this at our AGM and perhaps there will be some prizes (pending approval) for randomly selected trip organizers!
