Description:
Note: The plan is now to go to Skaha Bluffs for the long weekend, due to the US being a shitshow. I'll leave Thursday after work and set up a camp, other cars could leave Friday or even Saturday if needed.
Join me on a road trip to City of Rocks National Preserve in the desert of southern Idaho over the Easter long weekend! It's a long haul (~13 hours drive) so I'm heading out a couple of days before the weekend. I've never been to this classic climbing destination and I'm stoked to get out there and take a look around.
There should be something for everyone here, though many routes apparently are mixed sport/trad so trad experience would be very useful. I'm requiring at least Rock 2 plus experience, with a strong preference for Rock 3+.
You'll need a harness, shoes, ideally draws and a rope, plus the usual camping gear. I may try to book a campsite or two depending on interest, but there's also some free undeveloped camping available outside of the park. We can also do some hiking, scrambling, and hopefully some hot springing as well!
Feel free to reach out with any questions!
