Description:
Do you like good views and going outside? If so, this is the hike for you!
St. Mark's summit in Cypress Provincial Park is accessible from Vancouver, has beautiful views. I would like to be at the trailhead by 7 am to beat the crowds however if enough non-morning people gang up on me, I can be persuaded to push this back.
The actual hike is 11 km round trip and has 460m of elevation gain. While it's not Everest, it's still a significant hike and you should have a reasonable fitness level to partake. However, no one will be left behind. SInce this hike takes place on the Howe Sound Crest Trail, we can always continue on the trail for a little longer if everyone is still happy and not out of breath by the summit of St. Mark's.
The pre-trip isn't really necessary but it'll be a great place to arrange rides and ask questions about what to wear/bring if you're at all unsure.
