Description:

My friend and I are gonna climb and hike in Squamish Friday-Saturday, and we'd love for some more people to join us! (up to 4-5 more, car can take 7 including driver)

The plan is to climb on Friday, camp overnight at a rec site (free), climb on Saturday until it starts to rain around noon, and at that point hike the Chief.

The climbing will most likely be single-pitch sport climbs (5.7-5.11a), so Rock 3 is preferred (lead climbing and lead belaying). If you only have Rock 2 (building and cleaning anchors) or Rock 1 (know how to tie figure-eight and belay), that's okay too because my friend and I can lead climb the route, set up an anchor, and we can all top-rope it until we're bored of it. We're also open to climbing other grades and top-rope-only routes if people want.

The hike can be a strenuous one (roughly 6km and 650m elevation gain), but we'll take it at a pace that's comfortable for everyone. Depending on how tired everyone is from the climbing, we may do zero peaks, one peak, or all three peaks. (https://www.alltrails.com/trail/canada/british-columbia/stawamus-chief-trail)

My friend and I have all the climbing gear for up to 3-4 people (1 lead rope, 12 quickdraws, 2 anchors, 1 Squamish Select), but if more than one person signs up we would definitely appreciate more gear.

Please bring:

  • Climbing helmet (mandatory)
  • Camping gear, climbing gear, hiking gear (see https://www.ubc-voc.com/wiki/Gear_Lists)
  • Your own food and water, plus a camp food item to share (we'll have a grill)
  • ~ Good vibes ~

Since camping is free, the only cost for this trip is gas money.

If you want to join us, please email me!

Feel free to email/text with any questions. We'll sort out details over Whatsapp.

Disclaimer: this trip is not meant to be instructional, and neither my friend and I are professional rock guides; we're just here to have a good time :)
