Description:

I am doing Juan de Fuca April 29th-May 2nd (3 nights and 4 days), from Port Renfrew to China Beach. I am looking for brave adventurers to join me!
The catch is that you'd have to figure out your own transportation to Port Renfrew - there is a shuttle from Victoria. I'll be dropped off in Port Renfrew on the evening of 28th by family members who are doing an Island trip and they only have one spot in their car.
I plan to camp on Botanical Beach or somewhere around the trailhead on the night of 28th and start the trek morning of 29th. The trail is 47 km long, which means that we will be averaging 12 km per day. It's not a very ambitious itinerary as I want to have plenty of time to take photos and look for interesting creatures in tide pools, however I'm expecting to move slower than usual because of the elevation and complicated terrain. On May 2nd at 6 pm there is a shuttle from China Beach which takes us to Victoria ($50). We probably won't be able to catch the last ferry to Tsawassen - will have to book a room in a hostel or camp somewhere.
I did West Coast Trail two years ago in May so I have some experience with spring coastal backpacking. What you can expect:
-mud
-scrambling over very slippery rocks
-potentially downpour rain for the whole trip
-mud
-having your schedule being controlled by the tides (which I find very soothing)
-balancing on slippery roots on top of a swamp
-wet boots that never dry
-my weird sense of humour
-beautiful views (if we don't get downpour rain for the whole trip)
-very big, ancient trees
-bears, cougars (hopefully not), sea lions and whales (fingers crossed!)

-no crowds (and it does get very crowded in the summer!)

-adventure of your lifetime

-did I mention mud?
Requirements:
You should have done a 2 night (3 days) backpacking trip with a tent at least once
You should be comfortable walking around 15 km with a loaded backpack in a complicated terrain.<!--/data/user/0/com.samsung.android.app.notes/files/clipdata/clipdata_bodytext_240413_144925_550.sdocx-->

Between shuttles, camping fees, ferries, maybe taxi to the ferry and potentially room at a hostel, my best estimate is that you should expect this trip to cost you between $200 and $350.
