Description:

The Middle Fork Snoqualmie River Valley, located near North Bend, Washington (4 hour drive from van) is an incredible place. Moss carpets up to your knees when you step off trail and water so clear you question if it's real. As its official classification implies, it is very "wild and scenic". In a spat of procrastination surfing CalTopo, I realized that it is almost a perfect half marathon to run from the CCC trailhead at 9.2 miles on the middle fork road, along the CCC trail, and then connect to the middle fork trail to Goldmeyer hot springs.

I have a key to a specific gate that makes this plan especially appealing, so assuming there is enough interest the plan would be as follows: The run would happen on a Tuesday because then we can reserve exclusive use of the hotsprings for the afternoon and camp there for the night (max 7 people, 37usd/person). But what about the camping gear you ask? Well, this reverts back to that key I have, which will be used in some car pfaffary so get our stuff to 1/4 mile of the campsite. Meaning we don't have to run with much at all. So we would do some car pfaff the night/ morning before, then start running early morning, enjoy the springs, cook some good food, camp and return the next day.

This trip will require people to get relatively near Seattle, and final details will be worked out if enough interest happens. Ideally one full car comes form van, and a few people bus down to seattle and I can drive them from seattle. I am setting the pretrip at the end of April, as the reservation for the hotspring must be made at least a month in advance, though that will just be to make sure enough interest to fill the spots exists, the actual pretrip will be the week before the trip. Please email me if you are interested, and I will post here once the max of 7 people is reached.
