Description:
As you are probably aware, the roof at the Phelix Hut has undergone a major reconstruction this summer after collapsing earlier this year. For the past month, crews have worked vigorously to first take apart the old roof, bring in materials for a new roof, and finally build a beautiful new roof for the beloved Phelix Hut. You can read more about it in this trip report.
The hut now has a roof on it, but there's still work left to do - final touches, cleanup, and hauling gear down. I'll be in communication with anyone willing to come up this weekend on what needs to get done, and how.
I'm planning on going up for a daytrip on Sunday (to maximize downhauling capacity by leaving overnight gear behind), but if we can find another car there's lots to do over the whole weekend. Any and all help is appreciated!
