From Rueben

Seven people and one dog hiked/bushwhacked up to the Brew huts via the new Roe Creek route. Jenny couldn't make it and Marie-Andree changed her name to Christine. Antje, Christine and Grub (the dog) hiked out Saturday.

Snow was not encountered until above brew lake (about 5000 feet elevation). There is still about 1.5 m of snow at the old brew hut, but a lot melted in the last two weeks.

Preparation work was done Saturday and the concrete pouring started. As soon as we started to mix concrete it poured rain, which stopped as soon as we finished. We finished pouring concrete for the remaining three piers Sunday morning, cleaned up the site and left at 12:30pm. The only work left to do on the foundations is to backfill the holes for the piers that were poured Sunday.

With the foundations now done (mostly), work can begin on the aboveground hut construction. Thank you to everyone who helped the hut construction get to this point!
